We are seeking an organised and proactive Public Information Officer to support the Polyphagous Shot‑Hole Borer incident response.

This role plays a key part in delivering clear, timely and accurate information to the community, stakeholders and industry.

  • Starting ideally 22nd June until end of the year
  • Canning vale
  • Free parking
  • Monday - Friday 38 hours week
  • $50 + Super hour
About the Role

  • Undertakes public information activities as directed by the Public Information Manager to support incident response operations.
  • Works collaboratively within the public information team to maintain systems, processes and workflows that ensure high‑quality communication outputs.
  • Supports the development and rollout of communication strategies, campaigns and collateral.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on information relating to the PSHB incident, providing timely feedback to the team.
  • Works closely with operational teams across the PSHB response to ensure cohesive messaging and assists in preparing regular bulletins for local government, industry, community groups and other stakeholders.
  • Supports the management of internal and external stakeholders while building strong, effective working relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced response environment.
  • Experience in public information, communications, media, or stakeholder engagement (desirable).
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • National police clearance within 6 months old
