We’re juggling job requests, managing last-minute changes, supporting our candidates, and keeping things running smoothly for our clients. It’s fast-paced, people-focused work — and while no two days are ever the same, here’s a behind-the-scenes look at what we get up to…
Checking in with our current contractors
We start each day by checking on our temps who are already out working — making sure they’ve arrived safely for new assignments, checking everything’s running smoothly, and handling any last-minute changes.
Sometimes that means arranging a replacement with very little notice — we’re used to thinking on our feet and we start our days in the office early at 7am!
Responding to urgent job requests
Temporary roles can pop up at any time — from same-day starts to longer-term cover. We work closely with our clients to confirm the details, then act quickly to find the right candidate.
Having a trusted pool of job-ready contractors means we can respond fast when needed.
Staying connected with our candidates
We spend a lot of our day on the phone — checking availability, confirming shifts, talking through job details, or just staying in touch.
For us, temp recruitment is all about relationships.
We pride ourselves on being responsive, helpful, and honest with our candidates.
Screening applications and growing our temp pool
We’re always on the lookout for great people. Each day we review new applications, call potential candidates, and organise interviews to get to know them and understand what they’re looking for.
We also take care of the onboarding process — including compliance, work rights and reference checks — so everyone is ready to go when work comes up.
Interviewing and registering new contractors
Once we’ve shortlisted someone, we book them in for an interview with us. This is our chance to understand their experience, what kind of work suits them, and make sure they’re all set to start. It’s not just about ticking boxes — it’s about finding the right fit.
Supporting our clients
We work closely with our clients to fill roles quickly and accurately, but also to check in on how things are going. Whether it’s confirming bookings, offering advice, or helping with workforce planning, we’re here to make hiring easier and more efficient for our clients.
Planning ahead
Each day, we’re looking ahead to what’s coming up — tomorrow’s shifts, upcoming contracts, and roles we might need to start recruiting for. Being organised (and flexible!) is key to making sure everything runs smoothly for both clients and candidates.
Onsite safety visits
Safety is a big part of what we do. We regularly visit our clients’ worksites to complete Occupational Health & Safety assessments.
These visits help us understand the work environment, check for any risks, and ensure our temps are placed into safe, compliant workplaces.
It also gives us a chance to meet our clients and contractors to check in and see how everyone is going and build those relationships.
Admin and compliance (aka ...lots of time at our computers!)
When we're not in interviews, or out at client sites — we’re at our desks. A big part of recruitment is behind the scenes: responding to emails, completing compliance tasks, updating availability lists, entering bookings, and posting new jobs to our Jobs Page.
