In this position, you will convert existing policy documents—currently published on the department’s website—from PDF format into approved Microsoft Word templates.

You will apply agreed formatting standards, make minor administrative updates, and ensure each document is accurate, consistent, and aligned with departmental style and structure.
Key Responsibilities

  • Convert policy documents from PDF into approved Word templates
  • Apply correct styles, headings, tables, and formatting to ensure consistency
  • Make minor administrative amendments, including updating agency names and referenced documents
  • Record and maintain agreed standards for document structure, formatting, and policy wording
  • Ensure all documents meet presentation, layout, and version‑control requirements
  • Follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement of documentation standards

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, basic Adobe PDF tools, and Microsoft Word (including templates, styles, headings, tables, and formatting consistency)
  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct minor administrative errors
  • Understanding of document presentation and layout, with sound judgement in applying design elements such as spacing, font sizing, and style consistency
  • Clear communication skills to explain formatting decisions and proposed improvements
  • Ability to follow and document standard processes and agreed ways of working
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to complete routine, repetitive tasks within agreed timeframes
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while following instructions and established procedures
  • Awareness of document control, version numbering, and records management requirements


Desirable

  • Familiarity with government policy documents or administrative documentation
