Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the manufacture of blanks, including general fabrication and process work across the production area.
- Operate a variety of production machinery including casters, guillotines, rolling machines, blanking presses, conveyors, furnaces, and associated processing equipment.
- Perform product processing tasks such as inspection, pickling, burnishing, and weighing according to product specifications.
- Support Leading Hands and Supervisors by following instructions and ensuring tasks are completed according to specified procedures and standards.
- Carry out manual handling and physically demanding tasks including holding, pushing, pulling, lifting trolleys, and carrying items up to 22kg during operations such as roll-over casting or breakdown.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring and metrological instruments, as well as visual product inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas by undertaking routine cleaning of equipment and production spaces.
- Accurately record production and process data on process sheets and work towards meeting KPIs for assigned processes and jobs.
- Follow all operational procedures, policies, and safety requirements in the execution of daily tasks.
- Work collaboratively within the production team to maintain efficiency, quality, and safe manufacturing practices.
Successful candidates will:
- Be physically fit and comfortable working in warm environments
- Have experience or willingness to perform repetitive manual handling tasks
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical
- Provide a current National Police Clearance
- Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable work ethic
- Possess a strong focus on safety and teamwork
This is an ongoing, casual contract
role for 3 months with possibility of extension.
