This opportunity is suited to candidates with strong technical experience in the maintenance, repair, installation, and quality assurance of medical equipment and electronic systems within a professional environment.

Technical Officers work as part of a collaborative team and are responsible for providing an efficient, effective, and timely service in relation to the implementation, repair, maintenance, quality assurance, and installation of medical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fault finding, repair, maintenance, and safety checking of medical and electronic equipment
  • Installation and quality assurance of medical equipment and systems
  • Working with analogue, digital, and computer-based technologies
  • Supporting continuous improvement and quality assurance processes
  • Maintaining safe work practices in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety principles
  • Providing excellent customer service and stakeholder communication

Essential Requirements
  • Experience in fault finding, repair, safety checking, and quality assurance of electronic equipment, including analogue, digital, and computer-based technologies
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication, organisational, and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Quality Improvement principles and their practical application
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety principles
  • National Police Clearance dated within the last 6 months

Desirable Requirements
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Electrotechnology, Electronics, or another relevant discipline
  • Experience with computer-based technologies and networking
  • Experience in fault finding, repair, and safety checking of biomedical equipment within a hospital environment
  • Direct practical participation in a Quality Management System
  • Current “C” or “C.A.” Class Driver’s Licence
