Role Description:
• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems as directed by the Parks Maintenance Supervisor.
• Complete all tasks safely and efficiently, ensuring the safety of yourself, the public, and coworkers.
• Deliver reliable, community-focused customer service.
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment in accordance with safe work practices and procedures.
• Carry out maintenance and construction tasks across Parks and Engineering assets as required.
• Ensure high-quality workmanship daily, identifying and correcting any faults.
• Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials to ensure proper condition and availability.
• Assist with general maintenance in other City areas when needed.
Essential Requirements:
• Current National Police Clearance
• “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence
• Certificate III in Irrigation or equivalent experience
• Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate
• White Card
• Extensive experience in irrigation inspection, maintenance, repairs, and installations
• Experience in Parks Maintenance, including relevant plant operation
• Ability to interpret irrigation and site plans
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
• Ability to identify faults, report issues, and suggest practical solutions
Desirable Requirements:
• “MR” or “HR” Class Driver’s Licence
• First Aid Certificate
• Strong knowledge of water bores, pumping systems, and maintenance
