Licensing Officer

Commence: Asap - 17th July
Rate: $45-49 depending on experience

This position is responsible for coordinating and administering the processing of licences, registrations, amendments and renewals in accordance with the requirements of the Radiation Safety Act 1975 and related regulations. 

  • Experience in an administrative, licencing and/or processing role.
  • Complies with direction and works to deliver set tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing prompt and courteous customer service; responds to customer needs and expectations, manages progress and keeps customers informed.
  • Has the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Understands the need for continuous improvement and is open to change and willing to learn new technology, skills and/or processes as required.
  • Competent computer literacy skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Work under supervision to meet timelines and priorities with regards to the processing of licences, registrations, amendments and renewals.
  • Provide advice and support to clients on application procedures.
  • Provides accurate information, checks and confirms accuracy prior to release.
  • Verify licence and registration applications, liaise with clients to seek additional information where necessary and prepare applications for approval in accordance with procedures.
  • Prepare and issue renewal notices for registrations and licences. 
  • Provide advice to clients on application procedures and fees for registrations, licences and temporary permits.
  • Collect fees and deposit monies received in accordance with procedures.
  • Assess all applications for completeness in line with the relevant legislation, established workflows and work practices.
  • Initiate and prepare correspondence to clients to rectify application errors, omissions, incorrect payments or dishonoured cheques.
  • Carry out accurate data entry; and maintain data quality related to licensees, registrants and temporary permit holders under the Acts, including assets subject to registration, as required.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the position as required.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, other teams, colleagues and clients.
  • Prepare written correspondence as required in a clear, concise and articulate manner.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuals, guidelines and other materials to assist external and internal stakeholders in meeting required standards.
  • Listens, understands and liaises with a diverse range of people.
  • Provides high quality customer service effectively communicating face-to-face, by phone and through correspondence in order to deliver accurate advice to customers.
  • Communicates clearly, listens and seeks to understand before responding and discusses issues thoughtfully.
