Position Summary

  • Previous medical or hospital billing experience highly regarded

We are currently seeking full-time candidates only with full Australian working rights (no visa holders) to join a busy hospital billing team based in Nedlands on an initial 3-month assignment, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
This role requires someone who enjoys learning, has a strong analytical mindset, is naturally curious, pays exceptional attention to detail, and can confidently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
As a Billing Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting hospital revenue recovery by coordinating the onboarding of Arrangement A doctors and managing complex billing processes across a range of hospital services.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating the onboarding of new Arrangement A doctors with Medicare and health funds to support billing processes.
  • Reviewing patient medical records and relevant clinical systems to identify, assess, and process billable activity.
  • Processing billing for Arrangement A consultants, private patients, Workers Compensation, Veterans' Affairs, and other compensable patients.
  • Reviewing medical, surgical, anaesthetic, prosthesis, radiology, and other hospital documentation to confirm billing eligibility.
  • Checking DMR notes, operative reports, anaesthetic records, imaging, and prosthesis activity.
  • Following up outstanding billing and maintaining accurate billing system records.
  • Supporting timely and accurate revenue recovery in line with Medicare requirements, health fund agreements, and Department of Health policies.
  • Liaising with consultants, Heads of Department, Revenue staff, Accounts Receivable, Medical Workforce, and clinical teams to resolve billing queries and improve billing accuracy.
