Core tasks include but are not limited to:
- Develop communication campaigns to keep people updated on services, projects and City priorities.
- Liaise with internal teams and provide advice on how to promote their messages.
- Monitoring and moderating social media channels.
- Develop social media posts (including reels and short form video) for facebook, instagram and linkedIn.
- Update website content using a Content Management System
- Create enewsletter & EDM content using standard templates.
- Develop content for a range of City channels and publications.
- Assist in the development of speech notes and media releases.
- Measure and track communications outcomes.
Essential:
- Relevant qualification or progress towards one in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies, or related field.
- Experience developing and implementing organisational communication strategies.
- Proficiency with digital and social media tools, including website content management systems.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly developed written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.
- Strong research, reporting, data analysis, and database management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters appropriately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain a current National Police Clearance Certificate.
