The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, development and management of library collections across physical and digital formats, ensuring collections remain relevant, inclusive and responsive to community needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collection development, acquisition, maintenance and de-selection of physical and digital resources.
- Analysis of collection data and preparation of evidence-based recommendations.
- Management of collection budgets, funding allocations and procurement activities.
- Vendor and contract management, including liaison with suppliers and monitoring service delivery.
- Oversight of cataloguing standards, inter-library loans and stock management activities.
- Leadership of a small team, including work allocation, coaching and performance support.
- Collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance library services, programs and community engagement initiatives.
Candidates need to have a strong understanding of Library operations, including Sound understanding of library management systems, cataloguing standards and collection analysis.
The ability to lead staff on weekend shift is a key part of this role.
The standard work pattern for this role is:
Week 1 & 3:
Thursday: 8am - 5pm, with 1 hour unpaid break
Friday: 8am - 3.30pm, with 1 hour unpaid break
Saturday & Sunday Off
Monday-Wednesday: 8am - 5pm, with 1 hour unpaid break
Week 2 & 4:
Thursday: 8am - 12pm, with no break
Friday & Saturday Off
Sunday: 12.45pm - 4.15pm, with no break
Monday - Wednesday: 8am - 5pm, with 1 hour unpaid break
