  • Rate: $38.00 - $42.00 p/h (incl. casual loading) + Super, depending on experience.
  • Location: Perth CBD.
  • 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri.
  • Fulltime onsite for first month, then possibility to WFH 2 days p/w - Weds & Thurs.
  • Starting ASAP for 3-6 months, possibility of going direct/permanent.
  • Due to the above, client is only considering Australian Citizens/Permanent Residents.
  • Candidate must have previous customer service & administration experience.
  • Required: Current National Police Clearance dated within last 6 months.
  • This role is with a commercial client.
*Candidate must be able to handle phonecalls and be a good team player.
*Candidate must have previous customer service & administration experience - Task Specific training will be provided.

Assistant Underwriter
 
Working collaboratively with and reporting to the Underwriting Team Leader, your primary role will be to provide assistance in the Underwriting Team ensuring facilitation of quality service, compliance with standards set out in the General Insurance Code of Practice and conduct within the company SLA’s and behavioural guidelines. 

Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
 
  • Ensure clear and effective communication is developed and maintained with key stakeholders, ensuring the needs of our clients and colleagues are met.
  • Attend to referrals, phone and email enquiries speedily & courteously
  • Perform sound risk assessments in accordance with the Underwriting Guidelines and within your delegated authority
  • Identify and act upon adverse moral factors or physical defects in risks
  • All actions to be properly documented in the Clients underwriting file
  • Contribute to a workplace of safety and wellbeing
  • Continue to develop your knowledge and Underwriting ensuring adherence to internal processes and guidelines
  • Help motivate staff and maintain a high level of enthusiasm among the team
  • Listen to all team members’ feedback and help resolve any issues or conflicts
  • At all times looking to eradicate/avoid complaints and breaches, but on identifying any complaints and breaches, escalating those immediately to the individual responsible within the organisation for reporting.
  • Maintain an active and effective diary system ensuring all tasks are actioned and followed up within time limits imposed by the General Insurance Code of Practice
  • Ad-Hoc duties from time to time
