Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Support Officer to join a busy team responsible for supporting and reporting on a significant portfolio of infrastructure projects across the public education system.
The team monitors more than 500 infrastructure projects, including school building and facilities projects, and plays an important role in ensuring senior management has accurate, timely and up-to-date information on project progress, issues and emerging risks.
About the role
This is a varied coordination, reporting and stakeholder liaison role suited to someone who is naturally curious, highly organised and enjoys being across multiple projects and priorities.
You will:
  • Provide project and administrative support across a large infrastructure project portfolio.
  • Maintain databases and systems to ensure project information, progress, decisions, issues and actions are accurately recorded.
  • Monitor project information, identify emerging risks and follow up on outstanding matters.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal teams, schools, government agencies and external stakeholders to stay informed of project developments.
  • Have an “ear to the ground”, proactively seeking updates and identifying issues before they become problems.
  • Respond to project queries, resolve matters where possible and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, correspondence, presentations and other project documentation.
  • Analyse and summarise information for senior management.
  • Support meetings, committees, workshops and stakeholder consultations, including preparation of agendas, minutes and follow-up actions.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and agencies on shared priorities and initiatives.
About you
You will be an experienced project or business support professional who can confidently operate in a complex government environment and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
You will bring:
  • Strong project and administrative support experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • The ability to build relationships and obtain information from a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with databases, reporting systems and project documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to follow up, ask questions and identify emerging issues.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Government, education, infrastructure or large-project experience will be highly regarded.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project support professional to contribute to a large and diverse portfolio of public education infrastructure projects, working with a range of stakeholders and gaining valuable exposure to government project and reporting processes.
If you are a highly organised, accurate and confident communicator who enjoys keeping across the detail and connecting the dots between projects, people and information, we would love to hear from you.
