  • Rate: $69.55 p/h + Super.
  • Location: Joondalup & Perth CBD - successful candidate needs to work across 2 offices.
  • Fulltime hours Mon-Fri, some WFH arrangements may be considered.
  • Starting 21st Sept 2026 for 6 months.
  • Required: National Police Clearance dated within last 6 months.
  • Previous experience in high-level Executive Support is essential.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, discreet, politically aware and capable of managing competing priorities with minimal supervision. The role requires the provision of professional support across executive correspondence, diary and meeting management, briefings, ministerial and corporate documentation, meeting papers and stakeholder liaison.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provides high-level executive support to the Director General, coordinating priorities, commitments and executive workflows to support the effective operation of the Office of the Director General.
  • Coordinates the Director General’s diary, meetings, travel and associated executive administration, ensuring priorities and commitments are appropriately planned and supported.
  • Manages executive inboxes and tracks priority actions, decisions and commitments to timely completion.
  • Coordinates high-quality meeting briefs, speaking notes, agendas, day packs and other material for the Director General’s engagements.
  • Provides secretariat and coordination support, including meeting papers, records of discussion and action tracking.
  • Coordinates Director General correspondence, ministerial and parliamentary material, Cabinet and Executive Council papers, briefing notes and departmental submissions, applying quality assurance and monitoring deadlines.
  • Liaises with the Ministerial Liaison Unit and business areas to obtain accurate information and progress high-priority executive and ministerial business.
  • Builds and maintains professional working relationships with ministerial offices, senior executives, government agencies and internal and external stakeholders to support coordination and issue resolution.
  • Undertakes research and analysis to inform briefings, advice, executive correspondence and decision-making.
  • Maintains effective governance, records and administrative systems, including processes relating to declarations, conflicts of interest, gifts and benefits, travel, finance and other executive obligations.
  • Contributes to risk management, audit, information management and continuous improvement activities relevant to the Office of the Director General.
  • Represents the Office of the Director General on projects, working groups and coordination forums as required.
  • Undertakes additional duties as required within the skills and scope of the position capabilities and departmental needs.

Essential
  • Experience providing high-level executive and governance support in a complex, time-sensitive environment, applying sound judgement and initiative to manage sensitive matters and support senior leaders effectively (you deliver with purpose).
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate complex workflows and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines (you lead adaptively).
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality executive material and build productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels (you collaborate and influence).
  • Developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, assess information and implement practical, fit-for-purpose solutions (you think through complexity).
  • Understanding of governance, integrity and accountability obligations within the Western Australian public sector, with demonstrated discretion in handling confidential and politically sensitive information (you build trust).
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, government executive, ministerial, parliamentary and departmental correspondence and decision-making processes (you embody the spirit of public service).
