Core Duties and Responsibilities
Service Development and Planning
- Reviews existing student transport services and develops plans for new or amended services.
- Consults with contractors, schools, community groups and local government on proposed service networks.
- Represents the Department at meetings with schools, Education Department officers and community stakeholders.
- Prepares reports, briefing papers, Ministerial correspondence and other documentation on service requirements.
Procurement and Contract Management
- Investigates incidents, complaints and potential contractual breaches.
- Processes contract variations in accordance with established procedures.
- Assists with tender processes and prepares low-risk contracts and procurement documentation.
- Supports the administration and management of contracts for student transport services.
- Monitors contract timelines, values and performance, and coordinates variations with relevant staff.
- Maintains contract administration systems and records, including amendments and supporting documentation.
Student Transport Assistance Policy
- Responds to routine complaints and appeals relating to the Student Transport Assistance Policy.
- Investigates more complex complaints and appeals, as directed, including matters relating to service delivery.
Administration and Quality Assurance
- Prepares and reviews documents for management, including business cases, breach notices, contract variations and related correspondence.
- Undertakes quality assurance activities within the scope of the position.
