Role Description:
• Provide technical support within a hospital-based Rehabilitation Engineering team
• Set up, modify and maintain wheelchairs, seating and pressure management devices
• Carry out fault finding, repairs, safety checks and quality assurance on equipment
• Assist with fabrication, fitting and adaptation of mobility and assistive technology
• Work closely with clinical staff and patients to deliver effective equipment solutions
• Maintain workshop equipment, records and stock in line with procedures
Essential Criteria:
• Relevant post-secondary qualification (AQF 3 or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong skills in fault finding, fabrication, fitting and general workshop practices
• Well-developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Ability and willingness to work directly with patients
• Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence
• Current National Police Clearance
Desirable:
• Experience with wheelchairs, seating systems or rehabilitation equipment
• Trade background (mechanic, fitter & turner, welder, machinist, toolmaker)
• Knowledge of pressure management and mobility systems
