Executive Legal Assistant

Commence: 18th July 2025 - 6 months
Part time: Wednesday, Friday and every second Monday (Not negotiable).
Rate: $53-55 p/hr + Super
Location: CBD

We are looking for candidates who are highly organised, have advanced word skills and, preferably, a background in commercial work with a knowledge of commercial documents. The person will be working with the Deputy State Solicitor and Adviser in the commercial team as well as several other senior lawyers.

The Executive Legal Assistant provides high level administrative, paralegal and secretarial support to a Deputy State Solicitor and senior lawyers of the Office, and maintains strict levels of discretion and confidentiality at all times.

  • Provides executive support to a Deputy State Solicitor, and senior lawyers within the Office, including:
  • Screening calls including calls from State Government Ministers, senior public servants, senior members of the legal profession and others.
  • Diary and appointment management.
  • Coordinate the Deputy State Solicitor's mail on a daily basis.
  • Plan and coordinate meeting requirements.
  • Assists with the planning and booking of travel arrangements
  • Produce documents from audio equipment and handwritten drafts.
  • Performs paralegal tasks of moderate complexity.
  • Coordinate and assist senior lawyers when responding to Ministerial enquiries.
  • Organises for court documents to be filed at relevant courts.
  • Data entry of costing sheets and case management information.
  • Maintain filing systems.
  • Assists in the allocation of legal matters and the creation of matter files.
  • Assists with the entry of matters into the SSO legal opinions system.
  • Contributes to identifying, developing and implementing areas for business improvement initiatives.
  • Participates constructively and positively within the workplace teams, including providing short term relief and assistance to other team members.
  • Other duties as required in accordance with strategic objectives, business plans, local workload priorities and performance management plans.
