The client is looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Clerical Officer to join their team in Nedlands to cover leave. This role involves providing essential administrative support in a mortuary setting. You’ll assist with paperwork, manage calls, and interact with bereaved families, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and care.
This role requires someone who is not only skilled in office tasks but also sensitive to families going through a difficult time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the mortuary and forensic pathology teams.
- Enter case data into the Laboratory Information System.
- Collect and manage medical records (e.g., hospital notes, x-rays).
- Ensure all documentation for post-mortem examinations is received on time.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the right staff.
- Be the first point of contact for visitors to the Bereavement Centre (families, police, funeral directors, etc.).
- Communicate with external organizations (e.g., police, coroners, funeral directors).
- Dispatch reports to the Coroner after post-mortem examinations.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment.
