Client: WA Health – Based at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) & Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH)
Rate: $57 + super per hour

Location: KEMH & PCH
Roster: 7-day rotating roster, shift work between 7:00am – 8:00pm

This full-time role plays a vital part in the billing and revenue processes related to chargeable and private patients. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for ensuring accurate billing, compliance, and revenue generation in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise directly with chargeable patients (e.g., private, overseas, compensable) regarding billing arrangements.
  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing, administrative, and finance staff, as well as insurers and external stakeholders, to resolve billing-related queries.
  • Process billing for accommodation and professional fees, ensuring data accuracy across patient management and billing systems.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing initiatives to optimise revenue collection in a compliant and cost-effective manner.
  • Prepare billing documentation aligned with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  • Contribute to documenting billing and financial processes to ensure consistent and accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to support billing initiatives and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by assisting with the enhancement of systems, procedures, and documentation.
  • Contribute to staff education and training on billing processes and awareness programs.
  • Maintain statistical data and reporting, including key performance indicators for Arrangement A doctor billing.
  • Consistently meet performance targets and service standards.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in hospital billing or a similar financial/administrative role, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of billing procedures, especially those involving private and compensable patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both internal stakeholders and patients.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly on a rotating 7-day roster between 7am and 8pm.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in billing systems and financial recordkeeping.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Additional Requirements
  • Must have full Australian working rights (no working holiday visas).
  • Able to commence as soon as possible and commit for the duration of the assignment.
  • Willingness to work across both KEMH and PCH locations as required.
