Role Description:

Join a supportive HR team within a reputable government agency to provide high-quality payroll and HR administration support. This role will focus on processing and maintaining payroll, while also assisting with general HR support functions.

Key duties include:

Process payroll within agreed timeframes with a high level of accuracy
Perform payroll checks and maintain personnel/payroll records in line with relevant legislation and policies
Provide payroll reporting (scheduled and ad-hoc)
Respond to and resolve payroll queries for managers and employees
Consult with internal and external stakeholders to build effective relationships and achieve results
Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, policies, and legislative requirements
Identify and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain up-to-date process documentation
Assist in managing the HR mailbox

Essential Criteria:

Previous experience in payroll processing and HR administration
Experience using Aurion or Ascender payroll HRIS (highly regarded)
Previous government or public sector experience (preferred)
High attention to detail and accuracy in processing
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
