About the Role
Executive Support Officer (ESO)
opportunity – a dynamic temporary role
that has become available due to planned staff leave over the coming months.
Be apart of a highly respected public sector organisation focused on improving outcomes in mental health and alcohol and other drug services.
You will work as part of a small, collaborative team of six, delivering high-level executive support to the Commissioner and senior leaders across the Commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track incoming Commissioner correspondence, ensuring accurate processing and timely responses.
- Maintain effective records and correspondence tracking systems (Smartsheet and TRIM/Content Manager).
- Support projects, reporting, and administrative processes.
- Coordinate information and provide support to Executive Managers and senior stakeholders.
- Assist with Ministerial Correspondence, travel bookings, diary management, financial and admin support.
- Organise high-level meetings and functions.
- Provide secretariat support for monthly administration meetings (agendas, minutes, coordination).
- Liaise with internal teams, external agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant public sector policies and administrative procedures.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Strong administrative, organisational, and analytical skills with executive support experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise, self-manage, and work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in identifying and resolving issues, showing discretion and initiative with confidential matters.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, TRIM/Content Manager, and Smartsheet.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience supporting senior executives (preferably within WA Government, WA Health or related agencies).
- Proven ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage competing priorities.
- High level of initiative and professionalism.
- Familiarity with public sector systems and expectations.
- Confident, approachable, and well-presented.
Additional Details
- Start Date:
ASAP or by 1 September 2025.
- Hours:
Negotiable between 8:00am–5:00pm. Must be available until 5:00pm at least one day per week.
- Location:
CBD office, close to McIver Station and public parking.
- Flexibility:
1 WFH day/week available post-onboarding.
- Recruitment Process:
Shortlisted applicants will attend a brief (15-minute) informal Teams meeting with the Executive Manager and Associate Director.
- Compliance:
A current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
