The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Building Maintenance
- Liaises with suppliers, contractors, facility management and other stakeholders to ensure the provision of satisfactory maintenance of the Department’s building assets.
- Manages and monitors the performance maintenance and services related contracts (e.g. gardening, cleaning, waste disposal, security, mechanical services) at sites.
- Ensures compliance with industry and government standards on building procedures and practices to a high standard.
- Initiates and manages minor contracts with external service providers.
- Manages the sites’ emergency systems and procedures.
- Undertakes inductions for staff, contractors, volunteers and tenants at the sites.
Facility Management
- Manages the workstation configuration at the site.
- Manages the vehicle and parking arrangements on site.
- Ensures the safety, comfort and amenity of staff are provided for on site.
- Manages the allocation and return of access cards to the site.
- Provides advice and assistance to staff on a range of accommodation and facilities matters.
- Assists with facilities and accommodation related policy review and procedure development.
Financial and Project Management
- Effectively monitors and reports on the work sites’ maintenance program and budget.
- Monitor progress towards objectives, report on milestones, outputs and perform reviews.
- Acts as incurring officer for payments to contractors and suppliers.
- Participates in incident and emergency management activities commensurate with capability, capacity, training and level of experience.
