Duration:  Approx. 12 – 16 hours to complete your online training course plus the Workplace Tasks.


This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering civic and corporate functions for the city, including citizenship ceremonies, mayoral and civic dinners, stakeholder events, and community functions.

The role oversees event logistics, catering, compliance (Food Safety, RSA, WHS), budgeting, procurement, and contractor management to ensure events are delivered professionally and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee catering, contractors, and food & beverage operations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing, WHS, and relevant legislation.
  • Manage Civic Centre bookings, budgets, stock, and equipment.
  • Prepare reports, performance metrics, and event documentation.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, PR activities, and event communications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and a safe, inclusive workplace.

  • Proven staff supervision and delivery of outcomes.
  • Sound judgement, problem-solving, and discretion.
  • Excellent organisational and event management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience reviewing and improving workplace processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable in WHS requirements.


The position also requires (or the ability to obtain) relevant certifications and clearances, including:

  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Police Clearance (within 6 months old)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
  • Food Safety Supervision Skill Set


A current driver’s licence is desirable
