Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Policy (40%)
- Contribute to or lead projects aligned with whole-of-government Aboriginal strategies and departmental initiatives (including Closing the Gap, Aboriginal Empowerment Strategy, and Reconciliation Action Plan).
- Develop, implement, monitor, and review policies and guidelines relating to Aboriginal culture, heritage, and engagement.
- Research, analyse, and present data and findings.
- Embed Aboriginal perspectives into departmental policies and processes.
- Manage multiple projects to meet agreed time frames and priorities.
Engagement & Training (40%)
- Support and participate in meetings, training, and events promoting Aboriginal culture, heritage, and engagement.
- Develop advice, training, and communication materials to build cultural competency.
- Provide formal and informal education to staff on Aboriginal culture, history, legislation, and engagement practices.
- Support initiatives that strengthen relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal communities.
Administration (15%)
- Provide executive and administrative support to meetings and working groups.
- Assist with governance frameworks and record management.
- Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and other documentation.
- Maintain intranet and SharePoint content.
Other (5%)
- Participate in fire management activities, including bush-fire suppression and prescribed burning, in line with training and capability.
