Key responsibilities
Specialist Services
  • Coordinate the provision of data services for the Department and its customers.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders when providing the installation of data services to schools and sites, including:
  • defining the scope of works
  • analysing the requirements and identifying viable options
  • preparing and coordinating agreed timeframes
  • preparing submissions to service providers
  • reviewing the progress of works
  • providing progress reports
  • documenting the completion and closure of projects.
  • Inspect, assess and provide detailed reports for new and refurbished buildings in schools and the impact of relocation on data communications within these schools.
  • Coordinate Adds, Moves and Changes to data services (terrestrial, satellite, 4G)
  • initiating feasibilities
  • overseeing progress of works and providing progress reports
  • ensuring ICT records are updated
• Arrange cancellation and decommissioning of data services for site closures and where required.
• Assist other Directorate team members with providing ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services.

Branch Support
• Contribute to a work environment that is safe, fosters equity and diversity, enables the achievement of personal and EBS goals and facilitates accomplishment of designated roles and deliverables.
• Contribute to change management projects relevant to the Branch.
• Represent the Branch, as required, on Directorate committees and working parties.

Customer and Stakeholder Support and Liaison
• Liaise with suppliers in providing telecommunications related network infrastructure, services and support.
• Liaise with stakeholders for additions, relocation and changes to installed telecommunications services.
• Maintain a focus on customer service delivery and continuous improvement of services.
• Develop and maintain effective communication links and working relationships to ensure access to diverse specialist knowledge.

Selection criteria
1. Demonstrated technical knowledge, including industry standards, best practice and network infrastructure, and experience in providing telecommunications data services in a large, diverse organisation.
2. Demonstrated sound oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of clients, customers and stakeholders, including individuals in the building, construction and telecommunications industries.
3. Demonstrated sound written communication skills, including experience in preparing detailed reports.
4. Demonstrated sound research, conceptual and analytical skills together with the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems and issues.
5. Demonstrated sound coordination and organisational skills and understanding of project management methodology.
