What to expect after submitting your resume

You've applied through the website... now what?

You've hit send on your application to us and are wondering what happens next?

Interviewing with a recruitment agency is a great opportunity to showcase your skills, get personalised career support, and open the door to a range of job opportunities.

Here’s what you can expect:

1. If we can help, we will reach out

If your experience suits our positions we recruit for, a consultant will reach out to discuss.  This might be an email or call.

This first conversation is a chance to run through your background, experience, availability, and what you’re looking for. It’s relaxed and conversational—more of a “get to know you” than a formal interview.  The small details here really help. Answer the phone professionally, smile and be yourself! If you can't talk right now just organise a time that suits where you can be in a quiet place.

If you're calling up to follow your application, have a pen and paper ready to take down information!

2. An In-Depth Interview (Usually One-on-One)

If things progress, you’ll likely be invited to a formal interview with the agency—either in person or online. This is your chance to go into more detail about your work history, skills, and career goals. The consultant will also assess soft skills like communication, presentation, and reliability—things that matter just as much as experience to many employers.

Tip: Treat this like a job interview. Dress professionally, be prepared, and show enthusiasm. Even though it’s with an agency, it can directly lead to a job.

3. Onboarding and checks

We will send you links to do our onboarding for you to enter your personal information and include things like national police clearances and photo ID.

4. You’ll Be Matched with Jobs

Once you’re registered and your profile is complete, the agency will start matching you with relevant jobs. Some may be short-term, others longer-term or even permanent. You might be submitted for roles right away—or there might be a short wait until the right opportunity comes in. We advise to just keep in touch with your consultant and advise if other positions come up, or if you are wanting to check in and see if any new positions.

5. Prepping You for the Client Interview

If a client wants to interview you for a role, your consultant will support you with tips, background on the company, and what to expect in the interview. Think of them as your personal job coach—they want you to succeed as much as you do. If you're unsure about anything, just ask!

6. Ongoing Communication and Support

Once you've started a role through us, we will reach out to see how you're going and if you have any questions or feedback on the assignment. Please reach out to your consultant and let them know how you're going!

Interviewing through a recruitment agency is a supportive, streamlined process designed to help you shine. It’s not just about filling a job—it’s about finding the right fit for you.
